White Arrows
Expect big things to come from this New York via LA trio.

by Kyle Morrison

Three New York via LA boys have come together to form White Arrows.  The exciting new straightforward rock trio is gaining attention daily like a steamtrain, with rave reviews in Nylon magazine and a newly released "Hearts and Lungs" EP on iTunes.  Mickey (Who you may recognize if you frequent The Skullset) handles the main vocals and keys and Evan provides the punchy rigid guitars with Darren on the drums.  The EP has a DIY feel to itself (because it is DIY).  City Boys is the standout single from the EP with Mickey's half mumbling half singing about city boys much like themselves.  The track makes good use of a swirling synth but still manages to maintain an organic feel.  Being from LA and living in NY, they pull influences from both coasts, with the vocals evoking a Kings of Leon sound of the west and the gritty cool sound of all of the talent coming out of Manhattan and Brooklyn on the east.  Theve already been remixed by electro producers KKS and have been pounding out songs like crazy.  Expect big things from White Arrows in the future and keep on the look out for an album.
